After years of traveling around the world and experiencing the good, the bad, and the ugly, she embarked on a creative venture to create a delicious non-alcoholic drink.
It has taken quite a while to perfect what later became the DNA of VAN SHA. Immersed in the Indian spice markets and drink culture in which spices have been used for centuries, she began selecting the ingredients that would later lead to the creation of a unique distillate we named Aromatic Spice.
Inspired by her family’s grove (bhag) in Punjab, India, Our founder wanted to capture the bold and vivid flavours and flavours of India. The vivid red colour of our bottle is inspired by the Saffron spice.
The name VAN SHA is part Indian part Dutch, just like the rest of the design. “SHA” is derived from the first 3 letters of the founders name, meaning superior or king. “VAN” is a typical Dutch prefix for last names. Literally means “of” or “from”. VAN SHA essential translates into; The superior king’s or in our case The queen’s.
